Yao Ming Dating Nia Long?
A Houston Chronicle blog reported over the weekend that the "Shanghai Shotcaller," Houston Rockets center Yao Ming has been dating film and TV actress Nia Long.  The Chronicle blog pronounced in its headline that the romance was "official."  Not only does it seem improbable that the 7'6" Yao would date the 5'2" Long, Yao supposedly has a long-term Chinese boo, 6'2" Ye Li, the center for China's basketball team.  While Yao seemed flattered when he commented to Beijing's Titan Sports newspaper with Ye by his side, he denied all rumors linking him to Nia.  Yao said, "Isn't it too ridiculous?  I saw the news on Internet. The writer is so good at hoaxes. What's that? She's only 1.57m. I'm 2.26m. Does it sound reasonable?"  No it doesn't Yao.  But I have to wonder.  He spends all that time surrounded by African-American athletes, he must be somewhat interested by black girls.  And as I stare at Nia Long's gorgeous, seductive eyes right now, I can't really blame Yao for having a little jungle fever.  A representative from "Team Yao" dispelled the rumor saying, "Ye Li is now living with him. Anybody who has common sense will not believe such a rumor."  Perhaps this is a little Chinese damage control.  Let's just say that a black girlfriend for the Chinese superstar wouldn't be so good for his image in the homeland.  The China Daily ran a story Monday assuring readers in China that Yao had not strayed from his Chinese love interest.  What I found funniest about this story was how Yao told the media that he first saw Nia Long as Will's girl on "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air."  Yao watches "The Fresh Prince?"  Yao also loves hip-hop.  Basically, Yao's full of surprises and I wouldn't be surprised if the big guy had gone black and gone back.
