The Toast of Chicago's Chinatown
It's rare that on my morning newsfeed I find the phrases "Chinese love song" and "African-American" within a single sentence.  This morning I did.  This man to your left is Eddie Rogers II, an African-American in Chicago who sings Chinese love songs with a perfect Mandarin accent.  The Chicago Sun-Times suggests he is the only black man in America who sings Chinese love songs.  This dude studied Mandarin while in college and was recommended to sing song in Chinese for a local event.  Rogers was a hit and began taking jobs singing at Chinese events all over Chicago.  Last year he serenaded the annual dinner party at the Hong Kong Club of Chicago and this year he is scheduled to perform at Chitown's House of Hope for over 100 Shanghainese.  Eddie Rogers II is living proof that what you see isn't always what you get.
