Top 10 Dirtiest Names in Sports: The Sequel

On September 10th, I posted my first Top 10 list, the “Top 10 Dirtiest Names in Sports.” At the time, Flumesday.com was a rough and obscure website without any readers. I sent the list to Deadspin.com, the witty, sarcastic alternative to ESPN. Deadspin linked to my list and slowly the list popped up in some interesting places. First, an ESPN Radio affiliate’s homepage, then as a footnote on Wikipedia’s “List of Unusual Personal Names” and then the list was read on “The Bob and Tom Show,” a syndicated American radio show. As the list spread, I received more and more emails regarding the list. One guy emailed me just to tell me I was stupid for not including former baseball player Rusty Kuntz. And then about 5 more readers followed suit– “Dude. Rusty Kuntz”, “How could you forget Rusty Kuntz?” etc. A couple of weeks later I added a commenting system to the site and the opinions kept coming. To date, there are 18 comments attached to the post, all of which were to let me know which athletes I “forgot” or “omitted”. Except for one nice girl named Rose who just wrote, “very funny.” Rose, you single? Anyway, two months after the Top 10 Dirtiest Names in Sports, I have received enough suggestions to write the sequel. This is the first totally reader-generated Sunday Special. Thanks for the comments.
